Nara is a city with the history very much as well as Kyoto.
It takes about 3 hours by a train from Tokyo.
It takes about 30 minutes by a train from Osaka.

Nara was a capital before Kyoto became the capital in 794.
Buddhism came in the times when Nara was a capital and affected politics and culture.

Nara still has a lot of temple and Buddhist images.
A Buddhist image called a great statue of Buddha of Nara is the most famous.
The great statue of Buddha was produced in 745 in the Christian era by an order of the then Emperor.
In the year when a great statue of Buddha was produced, an epidemic and an earthquake and a dispute occurred.
It is said that the great statue of Buddha was produced by a wish for stability and peace.

The great statue of Buddha has about 15 meters height.
It is very big.


In Nara, a deer is protected as a holy animal.
The wild deer which is in Nara-koen Park is not afraid of people.


The tourist buys a cookie for deer and can feed a deer it by delivery by hand.


The deer of the child is very pretty.


There is the shop where is popular among Japanese tourists in Nara recently.
The shop is "Nakatani Do".
When it says why it is a popular shop, the reason is because they make a rice cake with high speed.
One knocks on the rice cake with a mallet of about 15kg weight.
One sometimes moves a rice cake barehanded so that a place to knock on becomes uniform.
